
For this project, ChaseDesign asked us to create a new-to-market, healthier, more natural, (yet delicious) pet treat for large dogs, small dogs, and cats with original branding and packaging system... challenge accepted!
Research & Ideation

As pet owners, my team and I are familiar with what the pet treat industry has to offer and how our pets interact with treats. Treats can be either a reward or a simple "I love you." Here are some of the ideas and directions that came to mind before diving deeper into our final concept.
Through store audits and online research, we noticed a lack of focus on senior dogs and cats. Brands that did focus on senior pets followed a bland, medicinal looking design. We believed this fell short from reflecting the true personality of seniors. We wanted to shift the focus from end-of-life to full of life with our branding, reminding pet owners that their senior pets, when given the right nutrition and care, are still our furry family with big personalities.

We described our moodboard as "your cool, eclectic grandparent who is surprisingly active for their age and makes you feel like maybe you should start that skincare routine and hit the gym more." Our inspiration started to lean towards 1950s inspired design, with bold, exciting colors and fun typography that seemed to have movement.
