For this project, my teammates and I focused on coming up with designs that advertised the event and made wayfinding easier throughout it. My main responsibility was to design a kiosk in which guests could navigate through the event with ease.
This was part of a group project where I had to opportunity to work with my peers and close friends Kira Powell, Brooklyn Hutchison, Jackie Drozd, and Liza Lennarz. Thank you so much for all your hard work and the outstanding deliverables that brought us the win!

It was important to make the kiosk accessible to everyone. So we included an accessibility button and language button. We also included a photobooth to give people who are not celebrities their own red carpet moment and another momento to remember the day.

Additional Designs

This is a closer look at the derby trails that were designed to lead visitors to their desired locations throughout the venue. These trails are inspired by symbolism throughout the event. Horseshoes would lead to betting booths, mint leaves inspired by the popular mint julip drink would lead to food and drink areas, footprints lead to general admission seating, and roses would lead to reserved seating.
Jackie Drozd illustrated the mint leaves, footprints, and horseshoes for the derby trails.

This is a pattern designed to be applied in various ways throughout the event, such as in photo backdrops, tickets, throughout the kiosk design, and on the photobooth prints.
Included are a few of Jackie's illustrations from the derby trail, the rose and horseshoe design from the Kentucky Derby logo, and my own illustrations.
I encourage you to take a look at our group presentation to have a closer look at my other teammate's designs.
